About Bob Gale

Bob Gale was born and raised in Salem, Oregon. As a native Oregonian, he was introduced to angling by his Grandfather Bobby Knight who is related to the famous basketball coach Bobby Knight. Bob now pursues salmon and steelhead as a professional guide, sometimes referred to as the sportsmans guide. And, with over 15 years of experience, offers some of the most action packed trips available in Oregon.

Fish for Oregon's prized King Salmon and powerful acrobatic winter steelhead, all while you enjoy the friendliness and professionalism of a knowledgeable and experienced guide. Bob offers guided trips on most all of Oregon's north and central coast rivers for salmon and steelhead year-round. For those fishing with the sportsmans guide, high success rates and big fish are the norm!

Bob's Bio

Growing up I enjoyed fishing the numerous lakes of eastern and central Oregon and hunting deer and elk hunting with his Granddad. At age nine I got my first real taste of steelhead fishing on the ever popular Nestucca River, where my Grandfather and I spent a great deal of time together.

In my early years as a young boy I began a regular pursuit of salmon and steelhead at many locations throughout Oregon with great success. I now spend my winters mostly on the coastal streams of the Tillamook River system, offering guided trips for winter steelhead and fall Chinook.  As the winter ends I begin guided trips on Santiams where I continue my fishing throughout the spring and summer months.

I use all top quality gear and equipment -- G-Loomis Rods, Shimano and Abu Garcia Reels, Alumaweld boats Willie Drift Boats and Pro Cure bait scents.
